The day itself

A slow vehicle-based circuit of the Bundala lagoons at the peak of the migrant season. Greater flamingo, painted stork and a rotating cast of waders use these salt pans between October and March. The vehicle doubles as a hide, so this works well for photographers and for anyone who cannot manage long walks.
