The day itself

A responsible whale-watching run off the continental shelf south of Mirissa, following the code of conduct for cetacean approach distances. Blue whales, sperm whales and spinner dolphins are all regular. I brief the group on identification and behaviour before we leave the harbour, and every sighting is submitted to the national cetacean database.
