The day itself

After dark the Galway sanctuary belongs to the frogs. We work the stream edges with red-filtered torches looking for shrub frogs, several of them found nowhere else on earth, and record calls for an ongoing survey. Short distance, slow pace, and a genuinely different way to experience the highlands.
